Social Benefits

The ARBA project aims not only to transform the productive model of Baja California Sur, but also to directly improve the quality of life of its residents. Its comprehensive design includes tangible and sustainable positive impacts for local communities, especially in rural and underserved areas.

1. Guaranteed Access to Potable Water
Reliable water supply from the desalination plant will allow communities that currently lack this resource to have consistent and high quality access reducing disease, improving hygiene, and strengthening public health.

2. Creation of Dignified and Well-Paid Jobs
The operation of the agroindustrial system, logistics infrastructure, and associated services will generate hundreds of direct and indirect jobs, with a focus on local hiring, technical training, and the development of specialized skills.

3. Retention of Talent and Reduction of Migration
offering real opportunities for economic and professional development in their place of origin, the project will help young people and professionals remain in the region, reversing forced migration caused by lack of opportunity.

4. Strengthening of the Social Fabric
Improved access to basic resources such as water, employment, and training will foster greater social cohesion, increase community participation, and help build safer, more resilient, and better-organized communities.

5. Inclusion of Women and Vulnerable Groups
The ARBA model promotes equal opportunity, encouraging the participation of women, youth, and ejidatarios in the project’s productive, management, and leadership activities.

6. Improved Food Quality
Local production of high-quality food will reduce dependence on external products and raise the nutritional level of families—enabling more accessible, fresher, and healthier diets.

7. Access to Technical Education and Knowledge Transfer
Thanks to partnerships with universities and technical institutes, the project will promote the training of technicians, operators, and engineers—fostering innovation, applied research, and the development of a new generation of local specialists.
